Dutch Apple Pie

Sweet apples, warm cinnamon and a sourdough crust, this apple pie stole the show!

This sourdough crust has quickly become my favorite pie crust recipe. It is such a nice compliment to the tangy sweet apples in this pie!

Dutch Apple Pie

Ingredients
  • 1 sourdough pie crust recipe linked
Crumb Topping
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup cold butter cubed
Filling
  • 4 apples peeled and sliced
  • 2 tb lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tb flour
  • 1 ts cinnamon
  • 1/4 ts nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F
  2. Fit pie crust into pie plate, refrigerate until ready to use
Crumb Topping
  1. Cut together the flour, sugars and butter until it resembles coarse sand
  2. Set aside
Filling
  1. Mix sliced apples, lemon juice, sugars, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg
  2. Stack in pie crust
  3. Cover with crumb topping
  4. Bake 50 minutes
  5. Cool
  6. Enjoy!
