Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies
You might think I’m a weir’dough but these sourdough chocolate chip cookies are the chip!
Soft and chewy cookies made with my sourdough discard, this has got to be my favorite discard use, so far!
I sure feel like one smart cookie!

- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter discard
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cold butter cubed
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and set aside

Stir the egg, sourdough starter and vanilla until smooth, set aside

Beat, on low speed, the butter and sugars until creamy

Stir in chocolate chips

Add the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly

Mix in egg mixture until dough comes together

Form into 18-20 balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet

Refrigerate 2 hours (or overnight)

Preheat oven to 375°F

Bake 15-18 minutes until edges are golden and middle looks slightly under baked

Cool cookies on pan
