Lentil Hummus | Quick, easy and delicious hummus...made with lentils, so yummy!

Lentil Hummus

  • 3 cups chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1 cup lentils
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 cup reserved cooking liquid from the lentils plus more, as needed
  • olive oil for drizzling


  1. Bring the chicken stock and lentils to a boil
  2. Reduce heat, cover ad simmer for 20 minutes
  3. Combine the cooked lentils, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, salt, cumin and 1/4 cup reserved cooking liquid in a food processor
  4. Process until smooth, scraping down the sides and adding liquid as needed to achieve desired consistency
  5. Serve drizzled with olive oil, if desired
  6. Enjoy!
